The shiny new phone is working greatly (I've written last few posts
with my phone, I think it indicates quite a quality considering how
I'm notoriously choosy about my writing implements) so far, except for
one tiny little flaw. The gps stopped working after a few days I
received the phone.
The gps worked perfectly on the day I got the phone. It was able to
lock onto my signal and identify my location without any issue. It
just stopped working about two days ago for some reason.
I went through the usual obscure ritual of consulting the oracles of
the infosphere (one side note about infosphere I just noticed, it is
built upon rapid replication, rather than creation. Yet it is vastly
different from most things that came before it. Like lisp, the
programming language, or like Douglas Hofstadter's treatment of the
self referentiality leading to birth of mind. Can I they the birth of
the mind as a type of phase transition? ), and apparently the problem
is somewhat widespread among this particular model. It's been
suggested that the problem occurs only in certain batch of products
from certain factory, but I don't know how true that is.
What matters the most at the moment is that I migu have to send the
phone back for replacement and it just sucks, especially since I have
to saw for shipping out of my own pocket.
Actually, the real kicker is in losing all the customized setting and
applications I installed on this device and the t9 input system I've
finally managed to tame.
Ah modern technology, why do you always fail?
